Emma Yang

Women's Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

 

Emma Yang is a physiotherapist with a special interest in women’s health physiotherapy, pregnancy care and postnatal rehabilitation. Through active listening, thorough examination and tailored treatment plans, she provides patient-centred care using evidence-based practice and the most up-to-date research.

She aims to improve quality of life for her patients through safe exercise and rehabilitation. She values quality of service and patient education.

​

Since 2015, Emma has worked in a range of private practice physiotherapy roles, including in aged care and with specialist women’s health providers.

​

Emma completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy studies at the University of Queensland in 2014. She is a registered member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for physiotherapy and has been a Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association since 2014, and a Member of Women’s Health Teaching Association since 2016.


She is qualified in dry needling, strapping, taping, and clinical Pilates. She has completed studies in pelvic health, incontinence, pelvic pain management, pessary fitting and pregnancy related exercise training. Her strong commitment to continuous professional development ensures the delivery of the most up-to-date and high-quality physiotherapy services.

Emma aims to inspire and empower her patients to make small changes for a better life, and to achieve their big dreams.

​

Emma can communicate fluently in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Chaozhou Dialect. She enjoys learning new languages, reading and Latin dancing.

Emma has a passion for educating and treating women in all stages of pregnancy or with pelvic floor dysfunction including: 

 

  • Pregnancy care and birth preparation

  • Low back pain or Pelvic girdle pain (sacro-iliac joint and pubic symphysis joint)

  • Abdominal muscle stretch and/or weakness including Diastasis Recti

  • Pelvic Floor Muscle re-training and education

  • Stress Urinary Incontinence, Urge Urinary Incontinence and Urgency

  • Postpartum assessment, and education for safe return to sport/activity

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
